Survival Starts with Fitness: 3 Tactical Strategies You Can’t Ignore

Being physically fit is one of the best strategies to continue being prepared for any survival crisis. If you don’t have the power and fitness to carry the gear and move from point A to point B, you will be severely hindered even if you have all the necessary equipment, such as the bug out bag, first aid kit, camping gear, etc.

What happens if you have to carry your wife up the stairs due to flooding on the first floor and she breaks her leg? Can you lift her up with your strength?

What should a woman do if she comes across a possible rapist? Do you possess the quickness and endurance necessary to fend off his unwelcome attempts and flee to safety?

Are you able to travel the 3 miles carrying your bug out bag to the designated shelter if you have to leave your home due to a hurricane and find that a tree has fallen on your car?

These jobs call for strength and endurance, therefore you must prepare yourself properly. Training for tactics is distinct from training purely for fitness. You must prepare for battle.

You might be astonished to learn that even the strongest gym goers can’t carry a soldier’s field pack and walk five kilometers. Within a mile or two, the majority will give out in a heap of sweaty fatigue.

They simply lack the specialized training to handle such demands. The ability to bench press 200 pounds and squat 300 pounds is impressive, but it won’t help you much in terms of survival scenarios. You must prepare expressly for the demands that can arise.

1. Workout with weights

Being able to walk over long distances is a survivalist skill that is required. Walking by yourself is insufficient, though. You must be able to walk while carrying weight.

The ideal technique to train is to simulate real-world situations as closely as possible. When practicing, load a backpack with weight comparable to the contents of your bug-out bag and carry it on your back. You may also just use your bug out bag as a backup.

In the real world, you might need to bend over to pick up something you dropped or to read a map that is lying on the ground. It will frequently be inconvenient to remove your bag in order to do this.

Practice performing squats, lunges, and Bulgarian split squats while carrying this weight. Over time, you’ll build the strength to carry the weight, and it’ll come naturally. You won’t need to take off your backpack in order to pick up stuff or kneel before standing up.

Train in a variety of ways. As though you were carrying a victim, cross your arms over your chest to carry the bag. Your biceps will be sore from this strain. Here, you’re gaining static strength. You’ll typically need to transport a wounded victim in this way.

2. Running

Not many people run frequently. Some people never run. You must practice sprinting if you want to survive. Use high-intensity interval training to exercise. Sprinting frequently will improve your power, endurance, and speed.

This is particularly helpful for women who can experience threats from shady guys. Your best defense is your capacity for quick movement. If they can’t catch you, they can’t hurt you. Because of the work involved, the majority won’t even try.

3.Drills

Kata is the term used in karate. This movement pattern is practiced repeatedly until it becomes automatic for you. You develop your skills and drastically cut down on your reaction time by constantly practicing the series of kicks and punches.

The wisest course of action for a survivor or prepper is to learn some sort of self-defense. Krav Maga is excellent. To be able to perform the moves with your eyes closed, you MUST practice them regularly.

Again, women need to pay closer attention to this. Your training will enable you to intuitively use the palm heel strikes to the jaw and knees to the crotch in a physical conflict with a man who intends to rape or injure you.

You’ll elbow his chin or slash his eyes if he blocks your knee. This is the body’s response to repetitive drills that lasted for hours. Only a few crucial seconds can make all the difference in a life-or-death situation. You’ll come out on the short end if you’re considering your next move. Every day, practice your drills.

This holds true whether you’re firing a gun, leaving your home with your family, erecting a tent, or lighting a fire. Practice will improve any necessary talent you may have. Do it physically instead of just thinking about it.

Train tactically by using the advice in this article. The difference between a survivalist’s fitness regimen and the typical gym-goer is that a survivalist will do whatever it takes to survive, even if it means that they die. Once you realize this, you’ll train in a way that is tactically appropriate for your objectives. Remain resilient and organized.
